02Hosting
This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 101 2nd St, Suite 575, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA, and delivered through their content delivery network.
When you open the website, connection data is transmitted to Netlify and processed there. This involves a transfer to the USA. Netlify, Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. In addition, the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses under Implementing Decision 2021/914 apply.
Processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing our website securely and reliably).
Netlify processes the data on our behalf under its Data Processing Addendum.
03Access data (server log files)
When this website is opened, the hosting provider automatically records the following information:
- IP address
- Date and time of the request
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Referring URL
This data is used to ensure the technical stability and security of the website. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
04Audience measurement with Umami
To analyse how this website is used, we use Umami, an analytics service provided by Umami Software, Inc., USA. The measurement script is loaded from cloud.umami.is and the data collected is sent to gateway.umami.is.
Umami sets no cookies and stores no identifiers on your device. In our assessment, consent under section 25 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG) is therefore not required.
We record the page visited and its title, the referring page, the screen resolution, the browser language setting and the IP address transmitted for technical reasons. Umami uses the IP address solely to determine the country of origin and to form a pseudonymous identifier valid for one day. Visitors are not recognised over longer periods, and the data is not combined with other data.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a data-minimising analysis of website use).
This involves a transfer to the USA, based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses under Implementing Decision 2021/914, which form part of Umami’s data processing agreement.
You can stop the measurement at any time by blocking scripts from cloud.umami.is in your browser or through a content blocker.
05Storage in your browser
This website does not set any cookies. For certain functions, we store small entries locally in your browser only:
- Language choice: this website is available in German, English and Portuguese. If you switch language or close the notice about another language version, your choice is stored, so the notice does not appear again on a later visit.
- Company name: if you type your company’s name on the home page, it stays in your browser for the duration of your visit so that it is already filled in on the contact form. It is only transmitted when you submit the form, and it is deleted when you close the tab.
- Page transitions: for the transition from one page to the next, your browser stores a technical marker, unrelated to you as a person, for the duration of your visit.
These entries do not leave your device, are not transmitted to us or to third parties and do not allow any conclusions about you as a person. Storing them is technically necessary for the respective function, so consent under section 25 TDDDG is not required. You can delete the entries at any time in your browser settings.
06Contact form
When you write to us through the contact form, the details you enter (name, company, email address, phone number, website and message) together with the language version you wrote from are received through Netlify Forms, a service of our host Netlify, Inc., stored there and made available to us so we can deal with your enquiry. The information on transfers to the USA given under point 02 applies here as well. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer needed for the purpose of its processing.
07Contact by email, phone or WhatsApp
If you contact us by email or phone, we process your details (for example your name, email address, phone number and the content of your message) in order to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to a contract or is aimed at concluding one, otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries).
Our pages also link to WhatsApp. Simply visiting this website does not transmit any data to WhatsApp; WhatsApp only opens when you click a WhatsApp link. If you write to us there, WhatsApp Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland, processes your phone number, your messages and other usage data in accordance with its own privacy policy: whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy-eea. In the process, data may be transferred to Meta Platforms, Inc. in the USA. Meta Platforms, Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
We use the messages you send us via WhatsApp only to handle your enquiry, on the same legal bases as above. If you prefer not to use WhatsApp, you can reach us just as well by email, by phone or through the contact form.
08Retention period
Personal data is stored only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the respective purposes or as statutory retention periods require.

You have the following rights:
- Access under Article 15 GDPR
- Rectification under Article 16 GDPR
- Erasure under Article 17 GDPR
- Restriction of processing under Article 18 GDPR
- Data portability under Article 20 GDPR
- Withdrawal of consent under Article 7(3) GDPR
